The working world...

Posted by CivilWar Fangirl

So, my new job at the Stratford-Perth Museum is going quite well! I'm really enjoying it there and find there is a lot of variation in what I can do. For most of the last week, I split my time between packing up artifacts in the basement and entering artifacts into the database. Yesterday, I spent most of the day helping Will (the education programmer) get ready for a grade 8 class that was supposed to visit the museum today. Helping with education programs are something new for me and I'm actually looking forward to it. I wrote a section for the program yesterday as well. The program is centered around the water exhibit that is currently at the museum. By the end of the day, I had my section written, Will and I knew exactly what we were going to do with the class AND we had everything set up ready to go in the morning!

The bad news?

The school was from Kitchener and didn't make it to the museum due to all the buses being canceled in that area! Oh, and I didn't make it into the museum either. I tried but ended up turning around and heading back to Goderich. The roads were HORRIBLE!

Even though this isn't a full time job, it is great to be back working again! And at a job I really am enjoying. I also am still volunteering at the museum here in Goderich, usually one day a week. And I still have the job cleaning at Fincher's (my uncle's bookstore).

Oh yes, and my on-line records management course starts in a couple weeks! I'm looking forward to it, since I think it'll be a pretty good course.

Anyway, I am off to bed!

Why is this the first I'm hearing of the new job?

It isn't. :) You really need to get Zach back in that crib.

I'm going say the entry could have been easily missed because the title of it ("The Search Is Over") is very similar to the journal entry before it ("The Search Continues").

I need to come up with more creative titles ;)

I must have missed "The Search is Over". I knew you had applied, though. I do remember that!
