I wanted to blog about this last weekend but the internet went out on us. Anyway, here goes!
My mom and I went last Saturday to pick out our wine. We're going to "make" a Bergamais red wine. The wine is in a kit, which the store (called "The New Grapevine"), will make for us (hence the reason I had the word "make" in quotation marks earlier).
According to the brochure I took home with me, the Bergamais wine is "a fresh young wine, best consumed in its youth. Cherries and plums fill the nose and the sweet cherry follows through to the mouth, where it lingers softly". May I just say I actually find these descriptions hilarious! The company that makes the wine kits is called Grand Cru. It takes four weeks to make the wine, so the store will call me when it's ready and my mom and I will go bottle it. The lady said I'm going to end up with about 30 bottles of wine! And I've already committed to bringing in my own bottles. So far, I have eight bottles. I need 22 more! I'm going to talk to my cousin, Jackie, about getting some bottles from her; she's getting married on May 10th and made her own wine for the wedding, so she'll have lots of empties after the wedding! One of my other friends said her and her husband have some wine bottles as well they'll give me. At least it's a start!
Jeremy is going to design the labels for me. He's already started too! I'll post an example of the label once he gets it done. I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with!
