I have a new favorite gadget. She always knows where I am, where I'm going and has the fastest directions to anywhere in North America (sorry, Mary, this isn't you). It doesn't cook anywhere near as good as her though. :) The Garmin StreetPilot c330 has been perfect so far. And get this: even Mary thinks it's cool! That's gotta count for something right there!
We were traveling back from Peterborough yesterday and needed to make a stop at Murray Clock Craft in Toronto to buy a new part for my parent's 37-year-old clock. It's halfway between the 401 and 407 near the 404. Before leaving Peterborough, I had added Murray Clock's address to my Favorites list and after a few quick presses on the screen as we left, it plotted the fastest route there.
This little beauty guided us there (with voice prompts) turn by turn right to the parking lot! It's accurate within approximately 30 feet. After getting the clock fixed, we were in the mood for a Tim Horton's bagel. No problem. A few more quick presses pinpointed a few locations close by. After selecting the closest one, we made a few more quick turns and in about four minutes, we were there!
The screen might seem a little small at 3.5", but it's razor sharp and crystal clear. Very colourful too! A few other handy features it calculates on-the-fly are: current speed, current direction, top speed attained, distance traveled, distance remaining to destination, total running trip time, trip time spent moving, trip in spent stopped and estimated destination arrival time (it's been very accurate thus far). It's simply amazing!
For more information, here's the product page on Garmin's website. I picked mine up on sale for $299 at Future Shop. It came pre-loaded with the most recent maps (version 8) for Canada and the United States. It also comes pre-programmed with approximately six million points of interest.
Highly recommended!

Sounds very cool. I'm jealous. Unfortunately I don't have anywhere to go really. I'll have to get you to see how it tells you to go from my place to Jean-Paul's parents' house....
