I'll let Mary continue posting pictures and handling that end of things. Here's some information on the technical aspects of the trip.
First, my GPS navigator paid for itself and then some on this trip. It guided me to the hotel, the airport, the wedding, reception and our friend Jeff's house flawlessly. I would have been lost so many times without her assistance I cannot even count. Jeff's place is a good 20 minute drive from the hotel that has all sorts of twists and turns. Believe me, in the darkness, I had no idea where we were heading but I trusted Garmin Lady's directions, and she took us back to the hotel with no problems. I will never make another trip without one. She also guided us to numerous restaurants with ease.
Okay, now for some numbers. Garmin Lady kept track of everything -- check it out:
Also, I just did some number crunching to see how much we spent on gas: My best count put the trip around $198.14, that includes a full tank that had about $35 worth in it before we left. The trip odometer is sitting a shade below 3,000km. Now, as for the cost of fuel in the States - it varied quite a bit. The cheapest per gallon was $2.679USD (in Charlotte). The most expensive was at the Meijer in Port Huron, it was $3.079USD. Some quick gallons to litres and USD to CAD currency conversion put the cheapest fuel at $0.739/litre (CAD)! A far cry from the $0.959CAD I saw it for coming back into Goderich.
That's the main stuff for now. If I think of anything else, I'll let you all know.
