This Saturday is my job interview at the Secrets of Radar Museum in London. Jeremy and I went to London on the weekend to see the museum. I was very impressed! It's a very well put-together museum, especially considering it has been completely volunteer run since it opened in 2003. I think it is definitely a place I would really enjoy working!
Turns out I will be interviewed by 5 people! It's not really scaring me as much as I thought it would. I've been trying to anticipate what questions I will be asked and I've written a few down. I'll get Jeremy to ask me them later, just for some practice. I've also got to do a write-up about what I would like to accomplish in my first 90 days at the museum. I've been working on that as well.
Speaking of jobs, I've also applied to a few other jobs. None of them are museum-related, however. I'd really like to get into records management/human resources if I can't find a museum job, so I applied for some administrative/office jobs in the Mississauga area. And have I heard back from them? NOPE! I've discovered one of my pet peeves about job hunting is applying through job placement agencies! I understand that they are getting tons of resumes and dealing with a high volume of applications! However, would it kill them to at least send out an automated response that my e-mail with my resume was received? Maybe it is asking too much :p. I'm not saying call me for an interview; I just want confirmation my resume was received.
Speaking of Administrative jobs (man, this post is just going on and on!), the Stratford-Perth Museum has a job posting for an administrative assistant, which I think I'll apply for. It's not as many hours as I would have liked (21 per week) but it would be a start! And who knows! Another job may come along there that I could apply for, especially since they are in the midst of moving their collection to a new building.
Anyway, that's all for now!
Oh yeah, the new TV is AWESOME! More about that later...
